Cornuproetus - 1.49" (3.77cm)
These authentic Cornuproetus trilobites come from the Lower Devonian Lhandar Formation near Alnif, Morocco—a region world-renowned for its beautifully preserved trilobite fauna. Belonging to the order Proetida, Cornuproetus represents one of the last major trilobite groups to flourish before the lineage’s final extinction at the end of the Paleozoic. Its compact, well-defined body and characteristic rearward-curving spines along the glabella make it instantly recognizable.
Ecologically, Cornuproetus inhabited shallow marine environments that once covered what is now the Anti-Atlas Mountains. It likely crawled across the seafloor, feeding on detritus or small organisms alongside brachiopods, corals, crinoids, and early fishes.
