Otodus Shark Teeth - .75 - 1"

These authentic Otodus shark teeth come from the world-famous phosphate beds near Khouribga, Morocco. Dating to the Paleocene and Eocene (roughly 45-60 million years ago), these deposits preserve the remains of one of the most important prehistoric shark lineages. Otodus is an early relative of the giant Megalodon, and its teeth provide a fascinating glimpse into the evolutionary history of lamniform sharks.

The teeth offered here are typical specimens from phosphate mining operations, usually measuring around 1–2 inches. Otodus teeth are characterized by their robust triangular crowns, smooth cutting edges, and small triangular cusplets at the base. These features distinguish them from later, larger sharks while still showing the lineage’s predatory adaptations. Their abundance in Khouribga is explained by shark biology—like modern sharks, Otodus constantly shed and replaced teeth throughout its life, leaving behind thousands over a single lifetime.
