These authentic fossil shark teeth come from the world-famous phosphate beds near Khouribga, Morocco. Dating to the Upper Cretaceous and Paleogene (roughly 70–60 million years ago), these deposits have produced an enormous quantity of marine fossils. The region was once covered by a shallow sea that supported a remarkable variety of sharks, rays, and other marine animals. Over millions of years, phosphate-rich sediments preserved their remains, making Khouribga one of the most prolific fossil sites on Earth.

The small teeth offered here are typical bulk finds from these mines, representing species such as Otodus obliquus, the mackerel shark Cretolamna, Odontaspis, and the extinct Serratolamna. Their abundance is explained by shark biology—sharks continually shed and replace their teeth, often losing tens of thousands in a lifetime. In the Khouribga beds, these discarded teeth accumulated layer after layer, resulting in dense concentrations that are now uncovered as byproduct during phosphate mining.

Today, Moroccan shark teeth are widely collected as affordable fossils, perfect for study, educational use, or simply as a way to hold a genuine piece of prehistoric ocean life. Their abundance ensures they remain accessible to collectors of all levels, while still carrying the fascination of predators that once ruled the seas.
