These bulk fossil mosasaur teeth come from the Khouribga phosphate beds of Morocco, dating to the Late Cretaceous (66-70 million years ago). Measuring between 0.7–1 inch, they often represent juveniles or smaller species. Mosasaurs continually replaced their teeth, and over millions of years their shed and lost teeth built up in dense concentrations, making them some of the most abundant marine reptile fossils available today. Mosasaur Teeth Assorted Fossils - .7-1"
These authentic fossil mosasaur teeth come from the famous phosphate beds near Khouribga, Morocco. Dating to the Upper Cretaceous (roughly 66-70 million years ago), these deposits have produced vast numbers of marine fossils, including the remains of mosasaurs—large predatory marine reptiles that ruled the seas at the same time dinosaurs dominated the land. The phosphate layers formed in a shallow seaway rich with marine life, preserving mosasaur bones and teeth in remarkable abundance.
The small teeth offered here, averaging between 0.7–1 inch, are typical bulk finds from these mines. They often belonged to juvenile mosasaurs or to smaller species such as Halisaurus, Prognathodon, or Mosasaurus beaugei. Like sharks, mosasaurs continually replaced their teeth throughout life, and countless shed or lost teeth settled into the seafloor sediments. Over millions of years, phosphate deposition concentrated these teeth into dense layers, which are uncovered today as byproduct of mining activity.
Today, Moroccan mosasaur teeth are some of the most widely available marine reptile fossils. Their abundance makes them an affordable way to own a piece of Cretaceous ocean history, perfect for educational use or as an entry point into collecting fossils from the age of dinosaurs.
